Annie Murphy, also known as Anne Frances Murphy, was born in the year 1986. Her nationality is Canadian but she works in Hollywood. Her most prominent role was of Alexis Rose from the CBC sitcom Schitt's Mill, a series which started in 2014 and ended in 2020. Her performance was critically acclaimed the role and received with the Primetime Emmy Award. She was born in Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. Both of her parents taught. Elmwood School was her first selection in Ottawa which was where she performed in various stage productions. She then enrolled at Concordia University from where she obtained a degree in theater performance. She then took courses at the Canadian Film Centre Actor's Conservatory from where she learned acting. After that, she relocated into Los Angeles in her early 20s and began to pursue acting. Annie Murphy's acting journey began in 2007 in which she made her first appearance on television with an action-punk film titled Lethal Obsession. She continued her acting career as she played minor, supplementary parts in a variety of films.
